After waiting for 21 years, 21-year-old Harnaaz has raised India's pride on the international stage by wearing this crown. From Instagram to Twitter, congratulatory messages were flooded everywhere. However, for two days, there was a lot of confusion about the original tweet handle of Harnaaz. Later Harnaaz shared the link of his real Twitter account on Instagram, after which this dilemma of people was removed. Let us understand this chronology from where this confusion started.
First of all, on December 13, when the name of Miss Universe 2021 winner i.e. Harnaaz Sandhu was announced, a Twitter account named @harnaazsandhu03 made a tweet. In this tweet, the account owner snatched the limelight by calling it the official account of Harnaaz Sandhu. Photos and videos of the Miss Universe 2021 contest were posted from this account.
Many celebs had congratulated Harnaaz Sandhu by tagging this account. Sushmita Sen, Lara Dutta, Shashi Tharoor had sent Harnaaz's wishes for becoming Miss Universe on this fake account. Many media channels had also shared the news by tagging this account, after which the followers of this account increased as soon as they saw it.
Seeing the increasing graph of followers, the fact checkers immediately investigated it. After investigation, it was found that this account named @harnaazsandhu03 was earlier active as '@malopezpz'. Before Harnaaz Sandhu, this account was sharing content related to Colombian model María Alejandra López Pérez, most of its tweets were in Spanish. When this account got the required number of followers, then this account got deactivated.
As soon as it was closed, the Twitter account named @HarnaazSandhu became active. This account also got verified blue tick status. OSINT expert and programmer Ajeyendra Urmila Tripathi busted this account. Expert told that this Twitter account named @HarnaazSandhu was earlier active as @harnaazsandhu03. And earlier this account used to post content for @malopezpz.
In a conversation with India Today, the expert told that he has many databases of fake accounts. Using these same databases, they found the reality of "@HarnaazSandhu", "@harnaazsandhu03" and "@malopezpz". These three accounts belong to the same person. All three Twitter accounts have the same ID. Any person can change his Twitter handle but his Twitter ID does not change.
The blue tick on the @HarnaazSandhu account was removed after the Twitter account was found to be fake. After this, the number of followers of this account fell from 75 thousand to 2 straight. Later it was suspended by Twitter.
Why was this account verified earlier? On this question, the expert said that information will be given about it soon. When the @HarnaazSandhu Twitter account was deactivated, the account named @harnaazsandhu03 was activated again. This account had made 83 thousand followers in the name of Harnaaz Sandhu. It was written in its bio-section that this account belongs to Harnaaz Kaur Sandhu. However, later this account got deactivated.
After so much confusion, Harnaaz Sandhu shared his original Twitter link on his verified Instagram account which is @HarnaazKaur. So far 14.5k followers have been made on this account.
