Canada on sidelines as Haiti finally gets an armed intervention against gang violence

This week, the UN Security Council authorized a multinational security force for Haiti. Kenya, rather than Canada, will be leading the force. Canada was under pressure during the past two years from the Biden administration in the U.S., the UN, Caribbean allies and others to take the lead — but it didn't want to.
