Ottawa quietly expands gun buyback program to include parts

Wes Winkel, the owner of an Orillia, Ont. gun stores, and president of the Canadian Sporting Arms and Ammunition Association, says the addition of parts to the federal gun buyback program makes sense, but will drive up costs.

As the first phase of Ottawa's assault-style weapon buyback program finally gets underway, the government has quietly expanded the program to include parts. A move that addresses concerns about 'ghost guns,' but seems certain to drive up costs.
